When you disembark from the ferry on San Juan Island:
Turn right on Front Street and go one block.
Turn left on Spring Street and go two blocks.
Turn right on Second Street and go several blocks to a 4-way stop.
Continue straight ahead (Second St. is now Guard St.) for two very long blocks.
Turn right on Carter Avenue and watch for Hillside House sign on the left.

If you arrive without a vehicle
If you arrive with very little luggage, the nine block distance to Hillside House is not difficult to walk, and there are sidewalks all the way. Otherwise, you might want to take a taxi.
